What Are The Requirements for 100% Insurance-Paid Transport?
To possibly be eligible for 100% Insurance-Paid transport, Patients must meet at least one of the following qualifying criteria to be transported by stretcher in an ambulance:
- Unable to sit in a wheelchair during transport due to Decubitus Ulcers or Other Wounds
- Unable to tolerate seated position during time needed for transport
- Bed Confinement (Unable to Sit up, Move or Walk w/o Assistance)
- Isolation/Infection Control Precautions Required
- Requires Oxygen - Unable to self-administer
- Moderate/Severe Pain upon Movement
- DVT requiring Elevation of lower extremity
- Special Handling requiring additional personnel (Ie: Morbid Obesity)
- Non-Healed Fractures
- Orthopedic Device required during transport
- Hemodynamic Monitoring required during transport
- Dementia
- Alzheimer’s
- Comatose
- Flight Risk
- Danger to Self or Others
- Possible Need for Restraints
